From Pastor Phillip Jones - Our First Steps Class

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of Friendly Community Baptist Church, it is always exciting to see new faces and families added to our church family.   Membership is important and here at Friendly we encourage and celebrate with those who’ve committed to being actively involved in supporting their local church.   Of course, more important than membership to any church, is knowing Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior and if that is something you have questions about or are not sure of then I invite you to learn more by clicking here or contact me personally here.

First Steps is a 3 week, interactive, and informative class structured around the 3 purposes of

Friendly and designed to help you better understand God, the church, and yourself.    

WEEK ONE:         Connecting to God

 

Theme:  Knowing God

A lesson written to help answer the most important questions about life:  Why am I here, How much does God love me, How do I become a Christian,  as a follower of Jesus Christ what is expected of me, and 4 habits that will change your life. 

WEEK TWO:        Communities of Believers

 

Theme:  Knowing Others

What makes FCBC unique and how can I become a part of what God is doing?    An important introduction to the Sunday School ministries of Friendly, a chance to meet and hear from the staff of Friendly and an opportunity to learn more about the ministries opportunities and Sunday School classes that  are offered to you and your family.     

 

WEEK THREE:     Changing the World

Theme:  Knowing Yourself

 

Week three is the icing on the cake, with this lesson we bring it all together by learning how God uniquely and specifically created you for maximum impact in His Kingdom.    Most of our First Steps participants have found this lesson most beneficial in helping them learn their S.H.A.P.E. for ministry and then getting plugged into a ministry opportunity that best suits their talents and interests.
