Mission Statement

Children’s Enrichment Ministries of Friendly Community Baptist Church exists to assist families of the congregation and surrounding communities in providing children with the academic and Christ centered spiritual foundation they need for continued success.

“All the children shall be taught of the Lord: and great shall be the peace of the children”    Isaiah 54:13

Philosophy

At Children’s Enrichment Ministries of Friendly Community Baptist Church, we believe in the education of the whole child.  The staff will strive to promote each child’s positive self-concept, to teach group responsibility and sharing skills and to offer opportunities which will enhance each child’s spiritual, emotional, and physical growth.

Kindergarten Preparation

Ways We Will Build Kindergarten Readiness:

  • Individual portfolios based on Pender County Board of Education Guide for Kindergarten.
  • Wee Learn Curriculum  provides a range of age-appropriate activities designed to lay a great learning foundation.
  • Parent/Teacher relationships emphasizing individual child needs and not competitiveness.
  • Engage children, starting at age 2, in play and day to day exciting hands-on activities without skill and drill.
  • Specialize in cognitive foundations (Language, motor skills, independence, and socialization).  Kindergarten teachers find it easier to teach a child who possesses a strong preschool education background in language skills, listening comprehension, attention management skills, and a positive attitude towards learning.
